I had a great time at Susan and Josh’s wedding. Once upon a time, a little girl dressed all in pink went strolling through the park with her mom and dad. All of a sudden she saw a princess. A real life princess! “Are you a princess?” she asked. The princess replied, “I’m a bride. I’m getting married today.” But the little girl knew that she was really a princess. And she gave her a big hug.
Weddings are a whirlwind of emotion. I adore seeing Susan walk down the aisle, smiling, radiant. I love the way Josh looks at her, and when he laughs, he does so with his whole self. Susan and Josh only invite their closest loved ones, and it’s evident from their smiles just how much they all care for the couple. One of my favorite images is a happy, proud glance from Susan’s sister. So much love. As they say their vows and exchange rings, the sun sets behind them. And they go forth together in love and marriage into the night.
START! That’s brilliant! I can almost hear their vows – you captured it all! Thank you! Susan and Josh are such a sweet couple and we wanted to give them wedding photos that captured their essence. Susan and Josh are one of the sweetest couples I have ever met. I had been looking forward to their wedding since their fun engagement session. What I love most about this bride and groom is their sense of fun. Since the wedding was in Chicago, Michael and I didn’t get a chance to scout the area until the day before their wedding. We found a couple of great spots for photos near the Swissotel. Susan and Josh love the city so we wanted to capture images that said Chicago. We got lucky with a gust of wind at just the right time.

While the bride gets ready downtown, the groom gets dressed in their apartment. He and the groomsmen practice the songs they’ll be playing during the reception. The cat approves.
